MERLIN R. STRUEMKE
May 15, 1918 - September 20, 2008

Merlin R. Struemke, 90, Amery, died Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Willow Ridge Health Care, Amery.

There will be a private family service at a later time.

Merlin R. Struemke was born May 15, 1918, in Springfield, Minn., the son of John and Ida (Krueger) Struemke.

He married Bernadette Rivard on November 27, 1939, and five children were born.

He spent many years farming in Richmond Township near New Richmond. During the time he farmed and also worked at the telephone company, helped rebuild and repair railroad cars and also spent time working at Andersen Windows.

After the death of his wife he later was married to Ellora Peterson.

He entered Willow Ridge this past May.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Bernadette, wife, Ellora, as well as his siblings.

Survivors include his daughters, Doris Huskey and Marlys Painter; sons, Allen Struemke, Jerry Struemke and Dale Struemke; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
