ELIZABETH WIENKE
December 29, 1909 - February 12, 1990

Elizabeth "Liz" Wienke of Glenwood City died Monday, February 12, 1990 at Holy Family Hospital in New Richmond at the age of 80.

Elizabeth Alvina Schreiber was born December 29, 1909 in the Town of Forest, St. Croix County, the daughter of Herman and Augusta (Brandt) Schreiber. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Forest, and on October 27, 1951 she married Harold Wienke there. They farmed in the Town of Forest until 1979 and in 1984 she moved to Glenwood City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold in June, 1982; one sister, Olga Quarnstrom and two brothers, Ernest and Arnold Schreiber.

Liz is survived by two daughters, Lola Nordstrom of West St. Paul, and Karen (James) Swenson of Connorsville; three sisters: Pauline Luehman, Ann Jahn and Hilda Schultz, all of Glenwood City; one brother, Ray Schreiber of Clear Lake; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Thursday, February 15 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Forest, with the Rev. Mark Broecker officiating. Music was provided by Terri Hienbuch, organist, and Ruth and William Wold, vocalists. Serving as pallbearers were Melvin Schreiber, William Johnson, Stanley Fouks, Francis Fouks, Wilbur Frank and Ronald Heinbuch. Honorary pallbearers were LaVerne Gust, Robert Gust, Duane Schreiber and Albert Holldorf.

Spring interment will be in the church cemetery, with arrangements by Everts Funeral Home, Inc., Glenwood City.
