DEER PARK MAN FACES CHILD ABUSE

Polk County authorities arrested a 47-year-old rural Deer Park man over
charges of child abuse from an incident last week where he is alleged to have
slammed a car door on the arm of a 10-year-old boy, causing serious injuries.
The man has a lengthy history of criminal activity in Georgia, Florida and
Texas, and authorities were able to track him down on Thursday at his
residence, where he was found, attempting to elude authorities. He faces
pending charges of child abuse, resisting arrest and probation and warrant
violations as well.
