Three people escaped serious injury, but did get rather cold after the pickup truck they were in rolled over early this (Thursday) morning. The rollover occurred on county road JJ about ½ mile north of County road J, just east of Amery at about 12:30am. Apparently, a truck driven by 23-year old Mary Koenick of Clear Lake hit a patch of ice and overturned in the ditch. There were two passengers in the truck along with Koenick, 20- year old Ryan Woodoff and 19-year old Josh Kuhn of Deer Park. When the vehicle overturned, one of the passengers arm got pinned underneath the truck, trapping him in the 10 degree below zero temperatures. A passerby was able to free the man by using a car jack to lift the truck off the victims arm. Luckily, none of the victims needed to be taken to the hospital. The Amery Ambulance and Fire Department, and Polk county Sheriff’s Department all responded to the scene.
