North Country 4-H Spring, Summer and Fall 2009 Events
North Country 4-H Club was honored to win the Community Service Certificate for a Small Club at the Leaders' Banquet on October 13. North Country also won the plaque for Health / Safety / Environmental Education. Aaron Kemling received the Farm Bureau Boy Award at the Leaders' Banquet, this is given to one boy and one girl who show leadership on the club level each year, presented by Rollie Roquette. At our October meeting / banquet we collected items for the Company B Troop from New Richmond stationed in Iraq. We also gave out our club awards.
Now is the time to join 4-H, anyone interested in having a great time, doing community service, recreation, and fun, should call Cheryl Kemling 246-2890.
North Country 4-H is in full swing for the summer season. The St. Croix County Fair sign is up and this late summer event was just over a month away when the sign was put up.
"Fun in Our Own Backyard" is the County Theme this year. Thanks to the 4-H Dads for their hard work putting up the sign. The sign is located at the intersection of County Road H and State Highway 46.
The Easter Egg Hunt was one of the first spring events. North Country had a great day for the Easter Egg Hunt, with over 120 childern in attendance! The beautiful wooden Easter Bunny baskets were donated by Steve Hoff. Thank you! Thanks to the club and the community for all their hard work.
After the Easter Egg hunt the group held their May meeting and performed the unglamorous task of raking the village park up for summer.
Thanks to Cheryl Kemling for providing photos and news of Deer Park's North Country 4-H!
